The Y.O.U. Job Search Guide
The Y.O.U. Job Search Guide is a basic and simple system designed for those with limited job search training and experience, (especially college students and high school graduates), and for individuals who haven’t been in the job search area for a while and need an uncomplicated method of reentering the job market.
The Y.O.U. Job Search Guide is made up of 13 basic steps. Each step gives you specific motivational and mental tools for designing a personalized plan for marketing, advertising and selling an individual’s skills, abilities, experience and future potential to employers. This model (like a business plan) becomes the empowering universe in which the job searcher exists. Each of the 13 steps in the Y.O.U. Job Search Guide is equipped with several self-help features that ensure the individual’s complete understanding and successful application of job search principles and techniques.
These self-help features include:
- OBJECTIVE – A brief statement of the primary things to be accomplished within that particular step
- YOUR REALITY – A presentation of how job search is supposed to work in the real world. It is designed to showcase facts common to the process of locating and acquiring meaningful career opportunities and employment, and developing an awareness of the individual’s own self-confidence as it grows
- SCENARIO – A dramatization (example) of a real life-related event experienced by others that illustrate how the basic principles involved in each step are applied and how they work
- POINTS TO PONDER – A review of the most important and critical points covered in each step of the job search process
- NOTES OF INTEREST – A set of quips and quotes from successful business leaders and persons of prominence and fame throughout the world, who by their words, thoughts, and deeds promote the single most important factor involved with achieving success in life and the job search process –the one factor (universal principle) that is repeatedly demonstrated throughout the entire Y.O.U.
